Spring of 2022 we bought this house through the Facebook Marketplace find of our lives (scroll down for the full story), and have spent the time since turning this beautiful lake property into a home for our family.
From learning how to care for the abundance of plants on this property, painting one room at a time, and spending as much time by the lake as we can, our life is a full one that I love sharing.

Our Dream Home
Our Story
Winter of 2015. Newly married and barely legal to drink, we bought our first home: a single wide trailer from the 70's right on a creek leading out to the lake. The floors were so soft we joked they were "self leveling". It wasn't fancy, but it was the perfect start for our life together! This is also where I fell in love with living on the lake.
Cut to Summer of 2018, and we purchase our first house in the same neighborhood Jackson grew up in, only a 2 minute walk away from the dock (and our boat) and a 10 minute walk from the heart of our lake town. This house saw us have our first baby, get our second dog, and grow in our dreams and goals.
January 2020, and we're ready to take the next step. We found a lot in our dream neighborhood, purchased it, and began the building process.
Covid hits in March of 2020 and within 24 hours our projected building costs go up by over $100k. We decide to back out of the build, despite already having sold our current home on S Clifford.
We move in with my parents and begin the house hunt. We decided to give ourselves 6 months to look before we'd get an apartment. Little did we know we'd need nowhere near that amount of time...
Jackson needed a new filing cabinet for work, and being the deal-seeker he is found one on Facebook Marketplace, in the same dream neighborhood we were going to build in. Long story short, I get a phone call from Jackson and he says "Don't freak out, but I think I just found our house. I texted you a photo." This is the photo he sent. I said, "I don't care what it looks like on the inside, I want it." We made a verbal agreement that day, only 2 days after moving in with my parents. And oh yes, Jackson did buy the filing cabinet too.
September of 2022 we moved in, and it has been an absolute dream home. Be sure to follow along to see what we're up to next in our life along the lake!
Not to say KT is never drawn to a trend here or there, but her heart belongs to all things timeless and that age gracefully.

Our Lake Home is a year-round home, all four seasons. That means for at least 6 months of the year, we need a warmth that provides a reprieve from the chill outside. In other words, coziness.
